PhD workshop on enzymatic hydrolysis of insoluble substrates

26. oktober 2010 kl. 9:45 - 27. oktober 2010 kl. 16:00

The 2nd Annual PhD workshop on Enzymatic hydrolysis entitled: "Enzymatic hydrolysis of insoluble substrates: A biophysical approach to mechanisms, models and applications" will be held on October 26 and 27, 2010 at Søminestationen in Holbæk.

The main focus of the workshop will be on biophysical aspects within enzymatic hydrolysis of insoluble substrates and its industrial applications. A particular focus is directed towards hydrolysis of complex polysaccharide substrates in connection to Second Generation Bioethanol Production. The workshop includes lectures from leading international scientists within the area and student poster presentations (please find the attached preliminary program). The purpose of the conference is to share knowledge and motivate cross-institutional collaborations, and is mainly directed towards PhD students and post docs within the field of biophysics and enzyme technology.
The conference is arranged by the Institute for Science, Systems and Models, Roskilde University and the Faculty of Life Sciences Copenhagen University and is free of charged for students (MSc, PhD, and post docs) including food and accommodation, sponsored by the School of Molecular Biophysics (SDU).

A registration fee of 1000 Dkk is required for non-students. To sign up for the workshop and for further information please contact Søren Nymand Olsen (sno@ruc.dk). Deadline for registration is October 1st.

On behalf of the organizing committee,

Søren Nymand Olsen and Leigh Murphy
